Finally, the amateur course record for Broadstone was also broken during the Individual competition by Chris Lloyd of The Kendleshire, Gloucestershire, with a superb 63. It was a terriific week with excellent golf from all of the competitors. Very well organised and managed by the SWCGA officials, ably supported by all the staff at Broadstone Golf Club. We look forward to hosting the event again in the future and wish the Wiltshire team all the best success in the finals.

The South West Counties Golf Association held the SW Counties Individual Championship and the English County Championship SW Qualifying Rounds at Broadstone Golf Club during the week of 6th June 2009. This annual meeting is acknowledged to have been the premier inter-counties meeting before the official inter-county championships were inaugurated, and it is still regarded by many to be the finest week of competitive amateur golf in England.
