“Silver birch, heather, pine and gorse with fine long views, Broadstone is a veritable
jewel in the crown of golf. Achieving par with a stiff wind qualifies on the best of honours.”

I had the pleasure of playing your amazing golf course at the weekend as a guest. From phoning the Pro shop on Thursday through to having a drink at lunchtime on Saturday I was made to feel very welcome by all those I had contact with.
I would like to thank all of you very much and would love to come back and play in the summer again when the weather is a bit warmer and to get the chance of playing the course to its full length.

Heathland course with fantastic views. In good condition and one that lends itself to creative shot making. Each hole presents its own challenge and sits in a secluded setting with holes framed by pine, heather and birch. The 3rd, 7th and 11th cam make or break a round! The greens were fast and true.
This is a 'must play' course that is picturesque and rewards thoughtful play. An excellent away-day venue which I am planning to visit again as soon as possible. 10/10"

What a grear golf course! From start to finish this oozed class, from the well thought out layout to the condition. This course has gone down in my top ten inland courses. well done Broadstone!

-"Hi, Just to say on behalf of the 6 members of High Post GC that were allowed courtesy of Broadstone today whilst High Post was closed for the English Boys Open. A BIG THANK YOU. The course was in magnificent condition and every body agreed that Broadstone is one of, if not the best course in Southern England. At least from our own experience. (of course we are proud of High Post too!)

Played Broadstone on Friday 6th June 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The course is definitely one of, if not, the best in the area. The greens were fast and true and the overall presentation of the course was a credit to the Greens staff. All of the staff and members I met were welcoming and helpful. Comfortable modern clubhouse with good food and prices were reasonable. This is a must play if you are in the area.

-“An excellent course! Given the conditions this winter, this course was in excellent condition. The greens are probably the best I have played all year. The holes were each individually stunning, with views in all directions. The layout is challenging without being too long-although a good drive is still needed on most holes. This easily outshines the other courses in Dorset. A must-play for anyone visiting the South for golf”

-“Fantastic-really enjoyed this heathland beauty. The change in elevation on several holes is evident as early as the 2nd and 3rd holes, two great par 4’s-one uphill and one back down. The run of holes:6th,7th and 8th are quality and tough, in fact the 7th which has the SI of 1, could just be a candidate for toughest par 4 in the south of England. It is difficult to find any faults of the at all-if being picky, then maybe the back 9 could do with a par 5 as there are none( the 13th or 16th could be taken back 100 yards and that would do it). Overall for me this is close to being a six baller(rating), just going to give it a five though but enjoyed Broadstone as much as Walton Heath- which is normally the Heathland King.”

-"This is a must play. No weak holes. You need to take your driver and to be driving well to have any chance of pars. Not for the faint hearted!"

- “This classic heathland track that was partly designed by Harry Colt has gone straight into my top 10. Rest assured, this is a really solid and attractive layout that will give a stiff test of your game”

- “It is truly a “must play” course and I envy the members.”

- “What a course! Not the longest, but with several par 4s over 400 yards and par3s ranging up to 190 yards, not a doddle either. Narrow undulating fairways edged with heather, gorse and a generous helping of trees require well placed tee shots in order to give yourself a chance of getting close to the green. And as for the greens, I have never played on greens in such great condition so early in the year.”

- “Loved every second spent at Broadstone although this was often in a quite masochistic way. An extremely challenging heathland course, in lovely condition, with some fantastic views.”

- “Played this course in September with 15 pals. It is absolutely glorious and in beautiful condition. Every hole is different and presents its own challenge. Of particular note is the Stroke 1 7th where a well placed drive sets up a long second over a valley to a compact green. Strongly recommended for an absorbing game.”
