| Hardy A at Parkstone - Sunday 9th August |

Following on from last weeks 7 - 1 semi final cup victory over Parkstone we were sure that they wanted to take revenge on their own track in this league match. Parkstone have yet to lose a league match this year and it was one that we had to win to ensure we keep away from the relegation zone. On an absolutely perfect day for golf the friendly rivalry was evident with pre match banter from both sides. Hilton Alcock went out first in his colourful shorts and nail varnish and delivered our first win of the day. This was followed by a win from Mark Baber and then a halve from Bernie Emberley with Paul Torrible winning his game to bring the match to 3 1/2 to 3 1/2. So it was all on the last match and with Timbo Aston having been 3 down early on we were not sure how it stood as he arrived at the 18th tee. With all players from both teams watching from behind the green it was a relief to see Tim teeing off first. Still not knowing what the score of his match was he arrived at the green indicating to us that he was one up. Tim, who drove just short of the green, chipped up to 4 foot and sunk the putt to halve the hole and win the match. A great performance from the Broadstone Hardy A team with a 4 1/2 to 3 1/2 victory over Parkstone on their home track. This keeps our heads above water for the time being but we have to win both our last two league games to ensure safety. In fact Mark Baber the team 'stato' informs me that if we win this Saturday at home and on the 29th at Knighton Heath by 7-1 victories we could win the league! It's all very tight at both ends.
