The 13th September 2009 was a lovely, sunny day for the Captain's Charity Day. 39 teams of 4 entered
and prizes were awarded to the overall winner, the first two places for the Home teams and the first four
places for the Visitor Team. There were also £50 cash prizes for two Nearest The Pin holes, two Nearest
The Pin in Two holes and one Nearest The Line hole. In addition to this there were eight Experience raffle
prizes that had been generously donated, plus a meal after the match for all who participated in the day.
There were complimentary refreshments at the 8th Hole, also very generously donated on the the day. In
all we had 3 Premium Sponsors, 38 Community Sponsors and 8 Raffle Sponsors and from all of this the
day managed to raise over £9,000 for Julia's House. Lin Hudswell,the Community Fundraising Manager for
Julia's House, said "This was an outstanding achievement in the current climate. We understand that these
are uncertain times for people and it is wonderful to see how generous everyone has been. This money will
go a long way towards the care we can provide to these children and support for their families. With no
government funding this crucial care is only possible through the thoughtfulness and generosity of the local
community. We care for around 100 families across Dorset and on their behalf, a big thank you to you all."
