Following the excellent 8-0 victory at home against Stoneham the Millennium League team traveled to Barton to play their final match of the year. A stiff breeze presented a challenge for all players.  Wes Hacker, who has had an outstanding year recorded yet another victory, as did Pete Asquith.  Phil Purvis squared his match which meant that after the elation of the last match Broadstone were defeated 5½ - 2½.  That result, depending on those from other matches means that Broadstone finished the year in 3^rd place.

I would like to thank everyone who played for the team this year and for the support everyone has given.  We have had some excellent results this year and there is every reason to believe that we can improve on our league position in 2010.

Even though we did not win the league, I know that all of you enjoyed the camaraderie that is always associated with this particular league, which is why Broadstone Golf Club continues to be proud to sponsor it. Enjoying the day and the company is as important as anything else. Thanks for all your efforts and we'll see what we can do next year!
