New Lady Captain Drive-In for 2010 |
On Thursday 11th February the new Ladies' Captain had her Drive-In. Most of the regular playing ladies were there in freezing temperatures but a beautiful sunny morning to give Doreen a warm send-off to start her year. The winners of the Bowmaker competition were Gay Brooks, Jenny Mcveigh and Tricia Bentall; 2nd were Linda Williams, Vi. Antell and Janice Berry; 3rd were Jan. Vale, Helen Potts and Caz. Rosselli.
On Tuesday 9th February Broadstone Doreen accompanied the ladies as they played the 4th round of the Legg Bowl at Lyme Regis. Stunning as the clifftop course looked in the bright winter sunshine the chill factor made the temperatures decided uncomfortable. The Broadstone team of Sally Mathurin, Mary Pryor, Bernie Oxley and Louise Cameron fought hard but were unsuccessful in beating the Lyme Regis team who now progress to the semi-finals.
