Hardy A Team Report - May 2010
8th May 2010 vs Meyrick Park away.
Away to Meyrick on a damp morning would need us to be at our very best to get a positive result, they have a great home record due to some fine players and narrow track. A poor start with just 2 out of 8 players hitting the first green gave cause for concern, but by the halfway stage word about was that we had the edge. Unfortunately matches we were down in were nearing an end. Jason Cooke playing Oly was 3 under gross and won 6&5, Stuart was suffering with an injury and our long time stalwart Bernie was up against it with Rafa 1 over, both of these matches concluded before the 16th. The young gun Steward wasn't firing on all cylinders and would succumb 3&1 on the 17th to a birdie. At the 10th we were  Ashley 4-up, Day 2-up, Torrible 2-up and Hilton 1-up. Ashley resisted a great come back to hold his nerve against Sholen and win on he 17th. Torrible went one down but clawed back to win at the last with a bogey and repeat last years result against Rob. Andy Day played exceptional golf as his opponent Tim Harty was 5 under gross at the 17th where he won 2&1. Finally Alan Hockings couldn't exact revenge for last years 6&5 drubbing but scrambled a half against the Captain. A defeat 2.5 - 5.5 sounds worse than it was. However, one place we didn't expect to win was in the bar and once again we were the last ones standing.

Well done to all who participated.
