Also on Thursday the Seniors took on Hockley where they won 4-2, continuing their good run of form. Well played!

On Friday, thirteen past Captains took part in the Past Captains Bowl and Ray Lawford, Maurice Hutchins, and Bob Warman joined them for the meal afterwards. Well done to Keith Rawling who achieved his ambition of winning this prestigious trophy.

This weekend we hosted our Men’s Club Championship, where 36 holes were played over 2 days, a great weekend of fascinating golf in absolutely wonderful weather.

On the Saturday, 73 was the best score, although as there were over 20 players within five of the lead, we knew a great 2nd round lay ahead. On Sunday, great rounds of golf from Andy Saunders, Lee James and Tom Comber gave them all a chance of taking the title. With 4 holes to play, Andy lead with a -1 overall total, Tom was in second on level par with Lee in third on +4. Two birdies in the last four hole gave Lee James the clubhouse lead on +2 with Andy Saunders tying that mark where he dropped a few shots late on. With a play off looming, Tom managed to hold his nerve, finishing with three straight pars to take the title by one shot on +1. Well done to Lee, Andy and Tom who shot 67, 69 and 68 respectively on the Sunday.

In the Nett Challenge Cup, Andy Saunders took the title with a Nett score of 132 over the two rounds, followed by Nick Plank with a Nett 139 and Richard Pearcy with a Nett 140.
